Electrify! at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts From July 14th – July 30th

Awaken your curiosity and electrify your senses at Electrify! at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from July 14th to July 30th. As part of the VSA Emerging Young Artists Program, this exhibit recognizes and showcases the work of 15 up-and-coming young artists living with disabilities, aged 16 to 25. Through several different modes of expression, Electrify! gives visibility to the work of these artists, positioning them to broaden our understanding of disability and the arts.

Be sure to check out the work of Rein Brooks, whose interactive sculpture invites you into a personal tangle of power, vulnerability, and erasure. In Everycloud, artist Carly Mandel comments on the lack of representation of disability in commercial media. All of the pieces truly empower the artist and viewer alike, sparking empathy and igniting understanding. This event is free and no tickets are required. Electrify! is open to the public from 10 a.m. through the building's closing.
