Baba may mean “grandmother” in Serbian, but this coffee shop, restaurant, and bar is definitely not anything like your grandma’s kitchen — aside from the deliciousness of the food.
As a coffee shop, Baba offers a variety of gourmet brews, and a daily brunch featuring items like the Tiramisu Oatmeal, a perfect combo of oatmeal, espresso mascarpone, almond butter, dark chocolate granola, and prunes with maple syrup. For dinner, Baba stresses the concept of “fun dining”, in which patrons pair dishes together with signature cocktails and share them with one another. The Pork Belly Sliders, for example, pair perfectly with the Serbian Sombrero, a lavish mix of pink peppercorn tequila, jalapeño Triple Sec, sour mix, rosewater, and Mexican salt.
The chic atmosphere at Baba is a great backdrop to the weekend DJ sets, which are intended to appeal to a variety of music tastes. Wednesdays are Ladies’ Night, in which all women receive one free glass of wine or Baba’s “Secret Punch”. Whether you’re starting your morning or heading out for a night on the town, this hip establishment is not to be missed.
