"How much fun can we fit into eight city blocks?" That's the question that greets guests to the website of Clarendon Day, an annual block party intended to "celebrate and showcase the Clarendon community." The answer lies in the event's itinerary, which comprises seven full hours of family-friendly fun on Saturday, Sept. 26!
It all starts at 8 a.m. with the Pacer’s 10k/5k/Kids Dash. Afterward, attention turns to the large section of Clarendon that's closed to street traffic and transformed into an outdoor party featuring food, activities, and live entertainment. Join the event's estimated 30,000 attendees to sip craft beer and sample food from local restaurants, shop locally made arts and crafts, and taste contenders' entries in the International Chili Cookoff Tournament! Five music stages will feature live entertainment all day long, while The Palatine's younger residents can enjoy a pony ride or face painting in the Kids' Zone.
Perhaps best of all, Clarendon Day is free to attend!
